LM FINISHES PROJECT CASE STUDY
The customer was experiencing water ingress through the chimney due to cracked render. They wanted it repaired and sealed with a product that would not crack and was low maintenance as the chimney is very high and not easily accessible for repairs or maintenance. Cork is a naturally flexible material, which makes it resistant to cracking.
Being a solid wall property, the customer also wanted to receive the thermal benefits that cork provides, as older properties tend to be colder and allow heat to escape, generally due to a lack of insulation. Spray Cork can reduce heat loss through solid stone walls by up to 30%, making it a great option for extra insulation.
Due to the age of the property, the customer favoured a thin wall solution to keep the historic character of the building. Spray Cork is applied at a thin layer of 6-8mm, maintaining the texture beneath.
“We are over the moon with the results and feel that our vision of refreshing our property whilst keeping the original characteristics was met. We are looking to book for LM Finishes to complete the other end of the property that is an extension to the original building."

After starting a massive renovation project on their property this customer wanted to get the exterior looking fresh with something that would also last. So they contacted us regarding spray cork.
During our initial meeting the customer explained to me how they look at all the new houses and renovated ones in the area and that 3 years or so after they are done, they are cracking and looking very weathered. So our suggestion was spray cork due to it's flexibility, fade resistant colours and salt air resistance, as it would stay looking new for many years to come and is backed with a 25 year warranty.
After a survey of the property we noticed many areas of blown render so gave the options of knocking areas off and repairing or a full knock off, new base coat and spray cork top. The option they went for was a full new base as it seemed the best way to achieve the result they were looking for.
After the job was completed the customer was absolutely delighted with the finish and since has told us that the house feels warmer quicker and holds the heat longer thanks to spray cork's 30% reduction in heat loss. They have also told us that passers by always compliment how great the house looks.

This customer wanted to update the look of their old pebbledash render to something more modern. After getting several quotes to knock the old render off and install a new system they contacted us to see what we could offer.
On attending a site survey we discussed the benefits spray cork would give them and how it would be a better choice for the salt air environment the property was located in over the other products they had been offered.
After measuring everything up and providing the quote the customer accepted on the spot stating it was half the cost of any other option they had been given and half the mess and disruption.
Upon completion they were over the moon with the results and also told us that they had already noticed the moisture level at the rear of the property where they had some damp issues had improved straight away.
